Goodbye Saul.....

So, I had a Saul in my life.  Do you know what and who a "Saul" is?

It's someone that really rubs you the wrong way. Someone that you NEVER seem to say or do the right thing around. Someone that is just very, very, very hard to love.

I have healing now in this relationship. Completely. Like, unbelievably.

Here is what I have learned: MY heart was the one that needed to change. All along I thought that if this person would change, everything would be good.

Oh no, folks. MY heart was the one in need of a heart transplant.

It's true.

God is miracles.
God is victory.
God is love.

Totally, head over heels in love with the Lord.

He is slowly smoothing out these callouses, friends.

Just wanted you to know.

goodbye Saul,

Things I'm learning....

I have a long, long way to go.

God teaches me something new

Sometimes it's hard learning a new lesson.

But, I am better for it.

God is teaching me how to love.

Like really love.

If I thought I knew what love was before, I was wrong.

He wants me to see others as HE sees them.

I hope others see me like HE sees me.

I refuse to live in guilt.

I bring on the bulk of my guilt.

Mostly involving parenting.

It drives me crazy when I do this.

I know it's not good for me.

I am daily trying to give it all to Him.

He wants freedom in this area for me.

I want it too.

My Mom loves me.

She looks at me like I look at Presley.

Your Mom feels the same about you.

Remember, you will be in her shoes one day.

Life goes by too fast.

I am emotional.

My kids carry my heart on a little string around their little sticky fingers.

Lem has the rest of it in his calm, cool, and collected handsome hands.

God has it all.

Wrapped up in His arms.

I rest in this.

Five on Five on Wednesday....

So, I stole this idea from another fellow blogger. You can find her blog here.

It's called Ten on Ten.

Um, I'm new at this, so I'm calling mine Five on Five.

Again, pictures speak a thousand words. And that's a good thing for me. I have a very limited vocabulary. I often think in pictures. Yes, I'm elementary.

Today, thus far:

I'm lazy. These pictures posted completely backwards. Shoot. Oh well. We're just gonna roll with it.

Easter in the bed....

Happy Easter, friends!

I come to you by bed this morning. As I type away, I am dressed in my finest night gown. No make-up, no straightened hair, no cute accessories.

Just you, me and my sick little girl.

I'm sick too, but she has it the worst.

She is not happy. When she wakes up from her restful sleeping, she cries tears of sadness over what she is missing today.

No family gathering, no yummy food, no last Easter egg hunting, no nothing.

Just she and me. Me and She. (And you.)

Being the traditional gal that I am, I'm kind of sappy sad too. I mean, what about our 2012 family Easter picture that we take every single year outside on Mommy Jane's driveway--in front of the azalea bushes or magnolia tree?

Oh pooh.

How about a cute dress and new white shoes that my baby girl will not be donning today?

Oh pooh.

How about some snuggle time with my baby girl. Just She and Me. Me and She. She and I. I and She.

Now that's worth all the high fevers and yucky tummies in the world.

Her Easter pose.
I would post my picture--
but if you look at it-
you may turn into stone.

Hello cute littleEaster dress-
on the hanger.
To be worn another time-
by a well 7 year old little girl.

Here's the good news:

He is Risen, indeed!

No high fever and yucky tummy can stop that good news! Hooray!

an Easter to remember,

Good Friday and good stuff....

A little good news on this Good Friday.

Y'all know know my heart on helping children.

I don't know what the Lord has planned for us. It may or may not be His will for us to foster or adopt.

Here's what I do know:

We will be taking the 20 hour foster/adoption course next weekend for adoption/foster care for the state of Georgia.

What does this mean? It means we will go through all of the procedures (which is a whole lot) to be able to adopt/foster. We are going through this to be able to help with our friends that foster. They often need assistance, and we want to be able to jump in and help!

How does this make me feel?

Oh, you just have no idea. My heart is about to burst with excitement!! Whatever God's plans are, I trust Him! Completely!

One day, I want to write all of this down, but for now I carry it in my heart. God has been planting seeds all around this little life of mine, and I don't have a clue where it's leading, however, I know He's good. I know He knows the desires of my heart, and I continue to trust Him.

I am okay with whatever He has for me. His will is the best. Hands down.

Enjoy this Good Friday. Soak up His Goodness.

a little picture of a little foster care friend that i adore.
i can't show his face, but trust me, he is the cutest.
this was taken after his soccer game last week.
presley took the picture.
i had NO idea that she did until i saw it on my phone.
already in black and white.
she's good.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

trusting Him,

Spring Fling....

A picture paints a thousand words. So, in this case 24 pictures paint 24,000 words.

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

See if you can match the pictures with these captions:

Life at the soccer field, Presley teaching Joseph how to cook scrambled eggs, celebrating my sister's 40th birthday, Presley telling the Easter story with this adorable and simple  egg demonstration my friend told me about-- you can find it here, , and dyeing eggs with cousins!

Happy Spring, friends!

Dry mouth....

So, I have been a little bit busy these days. Oops, there's that word again...busy.

I don't like saying that word. I try really hard not to say it. It just sounds...selfish or something.

Let me rephrase the first sentence to this.."So, I have been a little bit "living life" these days."

I thought so, too.

Real quick, I wanted to share something.

You know how being a momma is hard, like really hard. It makes it harder when you rarely ever, ever hear words of encouragement or words of affirmation regarding the tiny little details that you have to piece together each day. For each child.

Yeah, you know what I mean.

You know how on those days where it's really tough and you see one little glimpse of glory? Like, when your child minds you, or someone compliments you on your child, or something like that.

Monday was one of those days for me. However, this didn't involve my children this time. It involved something near and dear to my heart, my first love...Jesus.

I was having one of those moments when I wonder: "Am I making a difference?? Like, does anyone even notice me? Does anyone even hear what I am saying?"

Y'all have been there, I know you have.

As I was having lunch with a friend, she spoke the sweetest words over me. Out of nowhere, like a little refreshing spring of fresh water from the Lord. My dry and crusty self, sopped it up! I KNEW it was the Lord speaking through her to me.

It was like my parched mouth had finally found the sweetest little spring in the whole garden.

She will probably never, ever know what those words meant to me, but the Lord knows...and I know.

It was just what I needed to be refreshed and keep moving on this journey. It was truly the wind beneath my sails for this week.

Isn't God just good? He knew I needed that word from Him. He knew I was in need of refreshment.

Oh, how I love Him.

I love how He give us just enough for the journey. Too much may overwhelm us, so He gives us just the right amount at the perfect time.

Oh, He's good. So good.

dry no more,
